Social & Strategic Planning

Our team has wide experience in social & strategic planning. Our approach is characterised by participative processes that leverage the experience and expertise of key stakeholders and focus on helping clients to identify issues and develop appropriate strategic frameworks and projects. We have particular experience in working with organisations at the local government level in planning longer term social and economic strategies.

Recent relevant experience includes:

  • Fairfield City Council Social Strategy Review. In early 2007 IRIS undertook a review of the social and cultural plans developed by Fairfield Council to develop more outcomes driven strategies and actions. 2007 
  • Blue Mountains City Strategy 2005-2025. In 2004 IRIS helped Blue Mountains City Council develop a City Strategy for city-wide planning for the next 20 years. This was a multi-phase project that involved the development of a long term (20 year) City Strategy based on an extensive analysis of the economic, social and environmental issues facing Australia’s only Council within a World Heritage Area. 2005
  • Eurobodalla. In 2005 IRIS helped Eurobodalla Council develop a Vision and Strategy Plan for the long term planning priorities of the area. This was a multi-phase project that involved an extensive process of community consultation, analysis and strategy development. 2005
